Hatzalah Rescue’s Life Saving Work

Please watch our video to learn more about Hatzalah Rescue.  This movie is dedicated to the Shabo Family.

Mr. Shabo is one of Hatzalah Rescue’s founding members.  In 2002 terrorists broke into the Shabo home.  A mother and three children lost their lives that day.  Two other children survived though badly injured.   They were saved by a Hatzalah Rescue Volunteer.  The Hatzalah Rescue Volunteer gave his life saving Mr. Shabo’s two children, the volunteer was shot and killed by a terrorist during the rescue in the house.  Mr. Shabo and other Hatzalah Rescue volunteers continue saving lives today.

Our mission is to ensure immediate high quality Emergency Response Services to all medical emergencies.   To do so we work closely with the local municipalities, the Fire Departments, Police, MDA, and the IDF.   We train, equip, supply and coordinate over 1,000 emergency response volunteers covering over one third of the country.

  • Immediate Response within The 7 Golden Minutes to all medical emergencies
  • Specialized Response Teams for Search and Rescue
  • Coordinating volunteers at Hatzalah Rescue Centers and in the field
  • Training for new volunteers
  • Continued training to keep volunteers cohesive and up to date
  • Specialized training for unique trauma situations such as terror attacks and earthquakes
  • Purchasing, upgrading, and restocking of medical supplies and equipment
  • Equipping ambulances and EMTs
  • Providing radios for field communication and bullet-proof vests
  • Renovating and expanding medical facilities
  • Constructing ambulance bays
  • Staffing medical facilities

We have established Centers in some of Israel’s most isolated and dangerous areas.  These Centers serve as hubs for coordination of medical personnel, equipment, and treatment.  Our Centers are the often the only major medical facilities for at least an hour in any direction.

Hatzalah Rescue Centers and Volunteers ensure that there are standards of excellence in critical care and trauma treatment throughout Israel.  High quality emergency medical facilities and field responders are a necessity for Israel as we struggle to build our nation.  Maintaining comprehensive medical care which supports the health of the community and saves lives in emergencies is expensive. However, we believe that human lives are too precious to be lost due to inadequate treatment.
